Q: How much does a party cost?
A: A 90 minute party is $200. This includes up to 10 kids ($10 extra for each child up to 15). There is also a fee of $20 if you choose to add face painting for your group.
Q: What is the maximum number of kids that can be invited (including the birthday child)?
A: 15 child maximum.
Q: Is there a limit to the number of adults that can be at the party?
Q: Do the kids get to interact with the shelter animals?
A: Yes! The kids get to give treats to the dogs and toys to the cats, and almost always get to pet at least 3 animals.
Q: Can we bring in decorations and balloons for the party room?
A: Yes, feel free to bring these items.
Q: Do we have access to a fridge and freezer?
A: Yes, we have one in the party room.
Q: Can we order/bring in pizza and/or other snacks?
Q: What do we need to provide?
A: All you need to provide are cake, treats, snacks, drinks, etc. for the humans and any tableware needed for these items. We have tables, chairs, tablecloths and place mats available.
Q: When can we arrive prior to the party?
A: You are welcome to arrive 15 minutes prior to the party start time. Your party leader will be there before that to get the room ready.
Q: How do we get a receipt for the donation portion of the party fee?
A: Half of the party fee is a direct donation to the animals and can be deducted from your taxes. The ARL will send you a thank you that serves as a receipt for tax purposes.
Q: At what age does a child count as a guest at the party?
A: Children aged 3 and older count as guests, children younger than 3 do not count as guests in your total.
Q: Which items are needed most by the animals at the ARL?
A: Please view the Fetch! List for a list of our most needed items.
Q: Can we bring in treats for the animals (ex. apples for the horses)?
Q: Is the $20 for face painting a flat fee or for each child?
A: It is a flat fee of $20 added to your total.
Q: Do you need to add extra time for face painting?
Q: What activities will the kids do during the party?
A: We make treats for the dogs and toys for the cats. Usually, we have time to make a craft or play a game like pin the nose on the puppy. The main portion of the party is the direct interaction with the animals. At the end of the party, there is time for cake, treats and to open gifts.
Q: Do the kids ever get to see the horses?
A: Yes! If you choose not to have face painting at your party and the weather cooperates, we can take a trip out to the barn to see the horses. If there are volunteers working in the barn, we can sometimes even pet a horse. Otherwise, we get to see them out in the pasture.
Q: Are party favor bags included?
A: we no longer provide these, but feel free to bring in your own for your guests.
