Full Time Positions

Full Time Marketing Coordinator
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking an experienced full time Marketing Coordinator. Qualified candidates should be able to work independently in a fast paced environment, have excellent communication skills, be well organized, have high energy and an upbeat personality, and be able to work within a team. Must be able to work effectively and efficiently with other program leads and staff. Responsibilities include all organizational marketing - including graphic design, writing content, and overseeing the marketing plan. Public relations responsibilities include sending press releases, coordinating weekly media appearances, including appearing on air when needed.  Physical requirements include the ability to lift boxes and event equipment to set up as needed. Must have the ability to be around all species of animals. At least 2 years marketing experience is required.  At least 2 years graphic design experience required. This is a salaried position with flexible working days and hours as some evenings and weekends will be necessary; but core workdays of Mondays through Fridays.  Competitive pay and benefits and good working environment. Full Time Veterinary Technician/Assistant
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a veterinary technician to work in our surgical area full time. Qualified candidate should ideally be certified. Years of practical experience will be considered in lieu of certification. Candidates should possess a high level of skill, be able to work independently in a fast paced environment, have excellent communication skills, possess a keen attention to detail, be a quick learner and be able to work as a team member. The ability to lift and carry animals up to 55 pounds is required. Prior animal shelter experience is a plus but not required. We offer competitive pay and benefits and a good working environment. Part Time Positions

Part Time Animal & Customer Care Associate - ARL West
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking an Animal & Customer Care Associate for our ARL West location. Applicants must be willing/able to work with all types of animals as they are responsible for cleaning the animals as well as helping customers. Applicants must also have strong customer service, multitasking, and organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast paced team-oriented environment, and preferably have experience with animals in a personal or professional setting. This position is responsible for all facets of customer service, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, processing transactions, and precise record keeping. This position entails long periods on your feet, bending, kneeling and the use of ladders for cleaning purposes. Part Time Animal Care Technician
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a part time Animal Care Technician. This position will include all shifts and weekends, averaging from 20-30 hours per week. The position is at the ARL Main location and must be willing/able to work with all types of animals. Internships

Part Time Off Site Adoptions Intern
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking an open-minded, highly motivated person with both people and pet-friendly social skills to intern for our offsite adoption programs. You will assist for a minimum of 12 hours per week gaining valuable skills with communications, data collection, promotions, event planning and execution. This unpaid internship has room for a flexible schedule and will give you professional work experience in the non-profit sector. It will also provide a unique look at the entire shelter and how it runs efficiently. Responsibilities include: assisting with the event coordination, event execution, community involvement, sign-up and follow-up for our volunteer adoption crew, filling in at events if needed, creation and distribution of promotional materials. Part Time Marketing & Graphic Design Intern
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a highly motivated, creative individual to serve as a Graphic Design Intern for the Marketing team. Applicants should have strong graphic design skills for both print and web and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. The intern will be exposed to all facets of marketing for Iowa's largest non-profit animal shelter. This position is unpaid and is a set 90 day minimum term with 8-16 hours each week. Part Time Special Events Intern
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a highly motivated, organized individual to serve as a Special Events Intern. Applicants should be very detail-oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. This position is unpaid and is a set 90 day minimum term with 8-16 hours each week. The intern will assist with special event projects and pre-event logistics, call on vendors, businesses, and event attendees when needed, procurement, and other projects depending on the intern’s desired outcome.
