Customer Experience Supervisor
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Inc. (ARL) is currently seeking a full time Customer Experience Supervisor. This position is responsible for training and supervision of the desk staff and call center at all of the ARL locations. The ideal candidate would have prior supervisory and management experience, strong customer service background, have strong communication skills, be efficient and able to multi task, be able to work well with others and be well organized and high energy. This supervisory position does include some hands on working at the desk and typically works a Monday-Friday schedule, however, some weekends may be needed. Experience with Word and Outlook is needed. Competitive salary and benefits offered. Assistant Volunteer Coordinator (Onboarding Specialist)
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Inc. (ARL) is currently seeking a part-time (29 hours a week) staff person to support our volunteer programs. This position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the initial phase of volunteer engagement and satisfaction, from welcome through training. The ideal candidate would have strong customer service background, have strong communication skills, be efficient and able to multi task, be able to work well with others and be well organized and high energy.
The areas of main responsibility include:
- Serve as lead for all volunteer on-boarding procedures; return phone calls/emails from interested volunteers, maintain volunteer application and screening process, send out follow-up communications on next steps.
- Oversee volunteer orientations; maintain schedule, facilitate volunteer registration, coordinate orientation presenters, collect/document all required materials.
- Oversee volunteer training process: schedule volunteer training classes with instructors, facilitate volunteer training registration, update database when volunteers have completed training(s).
This role has a flexible schedule outside of some required Thursdays and Saturdays each month and will operate out of the ARL Main location. Experience with Word and Outlook is needed (database management/Volgistics experience would be preferred). Part Time Animal & Customer Care Associate - ARL South
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is seeking one Animal & Customer Care Associate for our ARL South location in Southridge Mall. Applicants must be willing/able to work with all types of animals, as they are responsible for cleaning animals as well. Applicants must also have strong customer service, multitasking, and organizational skills, ability to work in a fast paced team-oriented environment, and preferably have experience with animals in a personal or professional setting. This position is responsible for all facets of customer service, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, processing transactions, and precise record keeping. Job entails long periods on your feet, bending, kneeling and the use of ladders for cleaning purposes. Averages 20-30 hours per week.
Part Time Off Site Adoptions Intern
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking an open-minded, highly motivated person with both people and pet-friendly social skills to intern for our offsite adoption programs. You will assist for a minimum of 12 hours per week gaining valuable skills with communications, data collection, promotions, event planning and execution. This unpaid internship has room for a flexible schedule and will give you professional work experience in the non-profit sector. It will also provide a unique look at the entire shelter and how it runs efficiently. Responsibilities include: assisting with the event coordination, event execution, community involvement, sign-up and follow-up for our volunteer adoption crew, filling in at events if needed, creation and distribution of promotional materials. The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a highly motivated, creative individual to serve as a Graphic Design Intern for the Marketing team. Applicants should have strong graphic design skills for both print and web and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. The intern will be exposed to all facets of marketing for Iowa's largest non-profit animal shelter. This position is unpaid and is a set 90 day minimum term with 8-16 hours each week. Part Time Special Events Intern
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a highly motivated, organized individual to serve as a Special Events Intern. Applicants should be very detail-oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. This position is unpaid and is a set 90 day minimum term with 8-16 hours each week. The intern will assist with special event projects and pre-event logistics, call on vendors, businesses, and event attendees when needed, procurement, and other projects depending on the intern’s desired outcome.
