Part Time Animal & Customer Care Associate - ARL West
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking an Animal & Customer Care Associate for our ARL West location. Applicants must be willing/able to work with all types of animals as they are responsible for cleaning the animals as well as helping customers. Applicants must also have strong customer service, multitasking, and organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast paced team-oriented environment, and preferably have experience with animals in a personal or professional setting. This position is responsible for all facets of customer service, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, processing transactions, and precise record keeping. This position entails long periods on your feet, bending, kneeling and the use of ladders for cleaning purposes. Part Time Animal Care Technician
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a part time Animal Care Technician. This position will include all shifts and weekends, averaging from 20-30 hours per week. The position is at the ARL Main location and must be willing/able to work with all types of animals. Part Time Off Site Adoptions Intern - Fall
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking an open-minded, highly motivated person with both people and pet-friendly social skills to intern for our offsite adoption programs. You will assist for a minimum of 12 hours per week gaining valuable skills with communications, data collection, promotions, event planning and execution. This unpaid internship has room for a flexible schedule and will give you professional work experience in the non-profit sector. It will also provide a unique look at the entire shelter and how it runs efficiently. Responsibilities include: assisting with the event coordination, event execution, community involvement, sign-up and follow-up for our volunteer adoption crew, filling in at events if needed, creation and distribution of promotional materials. Part Time Community Engagement Intern
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking an open-minded, highly motivated person with both people and pet-friendly social skills to intern for our Volunteer program. Part Time Marketing & Graphic Design Intern
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a highly motivated, creative individual to serve as a Graphic Design Intern for the Marketing team. Applicants should have strong graphic design skills for both print and web and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. The intern will be exposed to all facets of marketing for Iowa's largest non-profit animal shelter. This position is unpaid and is a set 90 day minimum term with 8-16 hours each week. Part Time Special Events Intern
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a highly motivated, organized individual to serve as a Special Events Intern. Applicants should be very detail-oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. This position is unpaid and is a set 90 day minimum term with 8-16 hours each week. The intern will assist with special event projects and pre-event logistics, call on vendors, businesses, and event attendees when needed, procurement, and other projects depending on the intern’s desired outcome. Part Time Humane Education Intern
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a highly motivated, creative intern to assist 8-10 hours per week with the humane education program. Must be available Saturdays and Sundays from 2-4 PM as needed. The Humane Education Intern will gain valuable skills while assisting with communications, event planning, marketing, research and community outreach. This unpaid internship can provide portfolio building experience, a flexible schedule, and valuable experience in the non-profit sector. Responsibilities include: assisting with story time, help build and maintain a collaborative group of humane education volunteers, research new and exciting ways to teach pet responsibility and animal welfare topics, manage service learning projects, help care for humane education pets, assist with birthday parties, and other educational events. Graphic design experience is a plus, but not required. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week.
