The park is approximately 1 acre of fenced, off-leash play area. Features include benches, a drinking fountain and a dog waste station. No fees or permit required.
Ankeny Dog Park
Hours: Sunrise to sunset.
Location: 1155 SW Ankeny Road, Ankeny.
The park is 7.5 acres with a pond and trails. Proof of dog license and current rabies vaccinations are required. Annual permits are required, $25 for residents and $35 for nonresidents. Permits can be obtained through Ankeny Parks and Recreation.
Carlisle Dog Park
Hours: 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Location: 725 N 1st St, Carlisle
The park features 2 fenced in areas for dogs of all sizes, a shelter and benches, and a people/doggy drinking fountain. No fees or permits required.
Des Moines Dog Park (Ewing)
Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Location: 4660 Indianola Ave, Des Moines
The park has 8.5 fenced acres available to all sizes of dogs and 1 fenced acre for dogs 20 pounds or less. It features sloped terrain with mature trees and a mix of tall and short grass. It also has a shaded open-air shelter. Annual permit required, $20 for residents & nonresidents.
Des Moines Dog Park (Reno Memorial)
Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Location: 3325 Hubbell Ave, Des Moines
The park has 4.2 fenced acres available to all sizes of dogs. It features flat terrain with mature trees and a mix of tall and short grass. It also has dog waste stations and picnic tables. Permits are required, $20 for residents & nonresidents.
Des Moines Dog Park (Riverwalk)
Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Location: 1111 Illinois St.
The park has 4 acres of fenced area for all dogs, and features 5-foot architectural fencing, two fenced unleashing areas, a dog waste station, an enclosed portable restroom, picnic tables, two ADA parking stalls, and easy access to the nearby Riverwalk and trails. On-street parking. Annual permit required, $20 for residents & nonresidents.
Indianola Off-Leash Dog Playground at Downey Park
Hours: Sunrise to sunset.
Location: 1710 S K Street, Indianola
The playground features fenced areas for small and large dogs, watering stations, and waste receptacles and bag dispensers for cleanup. A shelter and picnic tables are also available for park patrons. Annual memberships are required and are $25 per dog, members will receive a magnetic access card to access the park. Memberships can be obtained through Indianola Parks and Recreation.
Newton Dog Park

Norwalk Dog Park

1.5 acre enclosure offers a safe place for dog owners and their four-legged friends to recreate. The park includes a water fountain, a small dog area, picnic tables, and a shelter. No fees or permits required.
Paws & Pints
Hours: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Location: 6218 Willowmere Dr, West Des Moines
Paws & Pints has over 20,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor dog park space outfitted with synthetic grass that is cleaned and sanitized from both sides. The dog park features play structures, splash pad, dedicated small/large dog areas, and waste stations. When the weather permits, the dog park extends another 3.5 acres to a natural grass backyard area. Monthly passes, or day passes available, prices ranging from $5-$45.
Pawtocka Dog Park

Pawtocka Dog Park sprawls over approximately an acre, including separate areas for large and small-breed dogs. There are several agility obstacles for your furry friend, including starter platforms, a canine condo, a tug-around interactive fixture, weave posts, a variety of jumping hoops, a recycled crawl tunnel with a dog house to allow sun coverage, and a custom A-frame scaler. Raccoon River Dog Park

The 10-acre park features fenced play areas for both large and small dogs. Annual permits are $20 for residents and $45 for nonresidents. Day passes also available for $5
Urbandale Dog Park

The park has 6 fenced acres available to all sizes of dogs. It includes separated large/small dog areas, a drinking fountain, and benches. Annual permit required, $20 resident, $45 nonresident.
Windsor Heights Dog Park

The park includes a fenced in area. Owners must be within the dog park and supervising their dog(s) at all time with leash readily available. No fees or permits required.
