Calamity Jane is a loving, playful little kitten. She loves to run and chase her toys and her cat friends. When she is all tired out she will curl up on your lap and snuggle, giving you little nudges with her nose to pet her. Loud noises can sometimes startle her to run and hide, so she'll do best in a home with older children or just adults. She plays well with other cats, and lived with a dog in her foster home.
Calamity Jane came to us with a deformed left femur that appears to be missing the femoral head, which creates the hip joint with the pelvis. As she grows that leg may remain shorter, leaving her with a limp. She currently has no trouble getting around and uses the leg quite well. We encourage you to consult with your veterinarian prior to adoption. We can provide radiographs via email if desired.
This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway program -- a program designed to give cats a vacation from the shelter and let them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. While vacation is fun, there really is no place like home, so please consider adopting one of these deserving cats! As part of this program, their adoption fee is just $50 each (or $75 for a pair)! To learn more about this cat or schedule a time to meet it, please contact Betsy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
