Additional Details

BIG FAN OF: Giving head bumps and napping under blankets.

NOT A FAN OF: Loud noises and fast movements. He's looking for a calmer, quieter home. A mature home will probably be best for him at this point in his life.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Rambo is a very sweet guy who loves head scratches and quiet times. He'll head butt you for attention and burrow under blankets when he wants to take a nap. He'll come to you when he wants cuddles and enjoys playing with toys sometimes as well. He's a pretty adorable boy!

OTHER REASONS HE'S SPECIAL: Rambo has no teeth. He can eat dry food but may need softened food as well. He has also been diagnosed with feline idiopathic cystitis, which is inflammation of the bladder with no recognizable underlying cause. FIC is fairly common in highly stressed cats. More information is on this cat's kennel at the ARL, but we'd also encourage you to consult your regular veterinarian if you have questions.

DREAM HOME: A calm, quiet home with people who will give him time to settle in. We don't know his history with children or other pets, but if he has any companions in his new home, it would be best if they were older and calmer.

This cat is part of our Silver Paw program, a foster and adoption program specifically for senior pets who have lived with an elderly person who has either passed away or been moved to a residential facility where they're unable to keep their pet. The goal is to give these pets a comfortable home until they're adopted or through the end of their life. You can learn more about this program at ARL-Iowa.org/SilverPaw. If you're interested in fostering or adopting a cat in this program, please email Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org.
