The National Kitten Coalition will be doing a one-day workshop specific to kittens and will cover multiple topics about general kitten health, how to care for kittens, and more!
Primary audience: those who work or volunteer in the animal rescue field, veterinary field, those who foster kittens, and those who may provide care for young/sick cats.
The conference is from 9 a.m. - 5: p.m. (check-in starting at 8:30 a.m.) and includes lunch. Tickets are $15/person.
These topics will be covered in the Kitten Conference:
- Stabilizing kittens and immediate critical care
- Performing an intake exam; what to look for
- Care of orphaned kittens; proper housing, feeding and daily care
- Socializing kittens and feral kittens
- Common concerns of kittens – singles, genital suckling, etc.
- Appropriate housing for kittens of all ages
- Quarantine and ways to minimize or eliminate disease transmission
- Cleaning and sanitation protocols
- Vaccines and protocols
- Nutrition
- Parasites
- How to safely bathe kittens
- Ringworm
- Diarrhea
- Eye issues
