The Iowa Dog Jog is an annual 5K/2K and fundraising event to celebrate all things DOG!
We have made some adjustments this year with the global pandemic, but we are still going to have two fun-filled days to celebrate! You can now walk, run, wag your 5K/2K from your favorite trail, your own back yard – or even join from your couch! No matter where you choose to participate from, you can still show your love and support for animals here at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
This year is filled with TWO days of fun this year!
Day 1 - Iowa Dog Jog Yappy Hour & Packet Pick-Up
- Date: Friday, September 18
- Time: Anytime 3 to 7PM
- Location: Bailey’s Bark Park, ARL Main (5452 NE 22nd Street, Des Moines Iowa)
You will receive your t-shirt, race medal, fundraising prizes, and more free swag from vendors. You and your dog(s) will also be able to get your photo taken, participate in the costume and best trick contests (voting online to follow), and enjoy other fun activities like discounted DNA Day kits, pet caricatures, a cash bar and so much more!
Day 2 - Iowa Dog Jog 5K/2K from your favorite location!
- Anytime September 18-20 you can run, walk, or wag your way around your favorite route to earn your finisher medals and post photos to share your accomplishment (details will be provided at packet pick-up).
- Join the Virtual Pet Parade on September 20 via Facebook Live
Stay tuned for more details on the virtual pet parade that will be streaming live on Facebook on Sunday, September 20. You and your dog will be able to participate for FREE as part of your Iowa Dog Jog registration.
100% of the net proceeds will help provide food, shelter, and medical care for the thousands of homeless pets that arrive at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa each year.
