Did you know that the ARL has horses? We do! We often find that many people don't realize we have a barn program capable of helping barn animals in need. We invite you and your family to the ARL's Second Chance Ranch to meet the adoptable horses and other barn animals and learn about what we do! The majority of barn pets that the ARL receives come from abuse or neglect situations.

This is a family-friend event with activities, root beer floats, a horse blanket wash, and an opportunity to meet the horses and even brush a horse!

The ARL is participating in the ASPCA's Help a Horse Day again this year! By participating in our May 12 event, you will be helping the ARL to qualify for an ASPCA grant for up to $10,000, which will assist our efforts to protect horses from abuse, neglect, and abandonment.

This event is free to attend, but we ask that you RSVP.

Blanket Wash
If you need horse blankets washed, quantities of 15 and less can be brought to the ARL during the Help a Horse Day event. For quantities over 15, please contact Carrie Spain at cspain@arl-iowa.org to setup a separate date.

Cost is $10/blanket, and all proceeds will benefit the ARL's Second Chance Ranch program.
