Less than two years after helping remove 30 dogs from an unlicensed breeder in Cedar County, the ARL team was back on the same property … this time working with authorities to rescue 32 MORE dogs.

We already had more than 1,200 animals in our care, and our dog kennels were full, but the call was urgent. These dogs had nowhere else to go.
Our animal care team rushed to prepare emergency overflow housing for the dogs, and our rescue team hit the road for the 4-hour round trip to bring the dogs safely to the shelter. Our veterinary and care teams met the dogs when they arrived. Some were terrified. Some needed medical treatments. All of them were in need of care.

We were able to answer the call this time … but we know another call is coming … and more after that. We can only help as much as our resources and space allow.

We need your support now to ensure we can continue to say "yes" when animals need us the most.

When you give today, you’ll be supporting these 32 newest rescues, as well as the hundreds of animals that were already in our care before this urgent call. You’ll also ensure our team of rescuers and caretakers can continue to be there for pets in need, no matter the situation.

Your support, either one-time or monthly, is needed now more than ever. That next call could come any day. Pets in crisis – like these 32 dogs – are counting on you.
