Additional Details

- Can be uncertain at first, but once she has had time to warm up and feel comfortable, she's a very bouncy, happy girl

- Excited to greet new people and will show you how happy she is with lots of wiggles and tail wags

- Very playful and cuddly

- Always excited to go outside

- Really enjoys squeaky toys and they're a great way to help her come out of her shell; also enjoys playing tug and fetch

- Loves treats

- Knows sit and shake

- Does great in the car and may even nap during the ride

- Tends to pull on a leash right now - she's got places to be! - so a harness will be ideal for walks

- Would probably LOVE a home with a fenced-in yard where she can get her zoomies out

- Previous family said she was crate-trained and didn't have accidents in her crate unless she was left too long (5+ hours)

- Not a fan of loud noises, such as fireworks and thunder

- Young, noisy or busy kids may be too much for her right now, so she may do best in a more mature home; has done well with teenagers in her foster home

- Can be shy and unsure of other dogs, especially if they're very forward, but would likely do well with a like-minded, calm, confident dog friend (dog intro recommended)

- Seemed curious about cats in her foster home but was not allowed to interact with them

- May have allergies and has been doing well on a prescription z/d diet for skin and food sensitivities while in our care (more info at ARL)

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
