Evaluate the needs, wants and constraints of your home and family to determine the type of pet that is right for you. When you have decided on the type of animal you would like to adopt, search our website or app for adoptable pets, and then visit one of the ARL adoption locations to meet the animals.
If you decide to adopt a pet you have met, you will begin the adoption process by filling out an adoption application. On the application, the ARL will ask how you plan to care for the pet and make sure that you understand the needs of the pet. Approval for adoption is done by one of the ARL's adoption counselors.
