The ARL is dependent on individual and corporate contributions to care for its animals and fund our programs, including TheraPets. To make a one-time or monthly donation to help provide therapeutic pet visits in our community, click here and reference "TheraPets".
Are you interested in having TheraPets Teams visit your facility or event? We're happy to help.
Please note: Due to insurance regulations, our program cannot fulfill requests from individuals. Also, volunteer TheraPets Teams are never allowed to visit private residences unless under the direct guidance and supervision of a home health care agency who is a TheraPets Partner and requests the visit on behalf of their client.
Special Event
Our volunteer TheraPets Teams visit high schools/colleges for de-stress days, libraries' read-to-TheraPet programs and Sensory Spaces events, crisis support/intervention and more!
If you are interested in having TheraPets at your event, please fill out the request form here to submit your inquiry for review. Requests must be submitted a minimum 45 days prior to the event date*; this is necessary to give adequate time to recruit available volunteers for events.
Completion of the form does not guarantee TheraPets for your event.

Recurring Visits
Our volunteer TheraPets Teams regularly visit hospitals, assisted living and long-term care facilities, hospices, rehabilitation centers, shelters and more. We are currently partnered with over 50 facilities in Central Iowa!
