Additional Details
- A huge cuddlebug and couch potato, loves laying next to you and will occasionally forget his size and crawl right into your lap
- Loves going on walks and does well on a leash; can be a slow walker because he's curious about all the smells he passes
- Loves making new friends and will greet everyone with a tail wag
- Did well on a trip to the farmer's market and loved meeting everyone
- Smart boy who knows sit and shake
- Likes treats, especially hot dogs and pup cups
- Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train
- Does great in the car
- Appears to be potty trained and would ring a bell to let his foster family know he needed to go outside, just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new schedule and routine
- Does well in his kennel and loves occupying himself with a lick mat
- Tends to be an introvert around other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups of dog friends; may not be comfortable at dog parks or at large, dog-friendly events (dog intro recommended)
- Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style and seems excited to meet other dogs on walks
This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
