Additional Details
- Sweet, calm guy who loves people, petting, and snuggles
- Wants to introduce himself to everyone he sees
- Enjoys using his energy up on a walk then settling in for some cuddles
- Likes stuffed toys, squeaky toys and treats
- Loves riding in the car with the window down
- Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and was a great companion: "He was very well behaved in the car and loved his pup cup. He was easy to walk on the leash. He did well meeting people. After a car ride and some outdoor time he laid on the patio for some cooling off and rest. He was an absolute delight."
- Knows sit and stay
- Can be shy at first, and will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time; not a fan of loud noises and may prefer a calm, peaceful home
- Previous family said he tends to be uncomfortable around young children; looking for a teens-and-up home right now
- Has done OK interacting with other dogs, but can be shy and unsure around new ones; his previous family said he also prefers not to share his food with other dogs so he might do best being fed separately (dog intro recommended)
- We don't know his history with cats
This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
