Join the ARL as we welcome Randall Lockwood, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of the ASPCA to share his knowledge about animal hoarding. The session will include about an hour presentation, followed by Q&A.
Animal hoarding affects the lives of thousands of people and hundreds of thousands of animal every year and is now recognized as a serious mental disorder. We will review new insights about the origins of animal hoarding and new approaches to community-based responses to this problem.
About Randall Lockwood, Ph.D.
Randall Lockwood is Senior Vice President for Anti-Cruelty Special Projects for the ASPCA. He has testified in dozens of trials involving the treatment of animals in the context of other crimes, including dogfighting, animal hoarding, domestic violence and homicide. He is a Fellow of the Oxford Center for Animal Ethics and is Affiliate Assistant Professor in Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. He is co-author of Cruelty to Animals and Interpersonal Violence, Forensic Investigation of Animal Cruelty and Animal Cruelty and Freedom of Speech: When Worlds Collide.
