Join us for a fun night of crafting and making your very own cat scratcher!  

This event is now virtual - an instructional video will be posted on this page by 5 pm on November 17.

Spend an evening at the ARL Main campus hand-crafting your own angled sisal rope scratcher and a bag of kitty treats. You'll be led through the crafting steps by an ARL staff member, mingle with other crafters, sip beverages from our cash bar, and also have the opportunity to meet some of ARL's resident cats that are looking for their fur-ever home.

What's included:

• all supplies needed to make the sisal scratcher
• a cash-only bar serving hot cocoa, apple cider, water, pop, and wine
• FREE cat toy for first 15 people to register
• chance to interact with adoptable cats

Cost: $25 (Ages 14+)

Includes the option to purchase as a to-go kit to make at home following a how-to video. To-go kits can be picked up during normal business hours starting Monday, November 16 and runs through Wednesday, Nov 18. 

All proceeds benefit the homeless pets in our care at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Kit Pick Up:

Pick up your kit anytime between 12 - 7 pm from Nov. 16 - Nov. 20 (all kits not picked up by Friday, Nov 20 will be considered a donation).

Event is limited to 30 people to allow for social distancing. All event attendees are required to wear a mask when not sitting at their seat and are strongly encouraged to practice current recommended safety guidelines as-appropriate for each individual including (but not limited to) social distancing of 6 feet or more and hand washing.
