Do you know what to do in the event of a pet emergency?

Many pet owners are not prepared to handle basic non life-threatening injury situations that commonly affect pets over the course of their lives. That's why we are partnering with PetTech instructor Stacy De Nooy who will lead pet parents through a hands-on class which covers all of the basics you need to know about Pet First Aid & CPR.

Participants will leave feeling confident that they can properly respond to help their pet cat or dog in the case of an emergency. PetTech is the premier Pet CPR, First Aid and Care Training organization in the country. Classes are limited to 12 participants, so sign-up today!

The Cat and Dog CPR, First Aid Class will cover:

• Pet CPR
• Rescue Breathing
• Choking Management
• Bleeding Protocols
• Assessing Your Pet’s Vitals
• Snout-To-Tail Assessment
• 10 situations that require immediate veterinary care

Some of the topics highlighted include the following:

• Restraining & Muzzling Your Pet
• How to help your pet in a medical emergency
• Heat & Cold Injuries
• Poisoning
• ABC's of Pet First Aid
• Seizures
• 10 situations that require immediate veterinary care

Tickets

$125  - Includes the handbooks that the students keep, use of a stuffed dog that students practice CPR skills with, a bleeding/muzzling kit to use for skills practice, and a completion certificate! Plus, $25 of your ticket is donated back to ARL.

The class is 5.5 hours long and there will be two 10-15 minute breaks. Snacks are not provided so we recommend you bring some to eat during your breaks!  

First Aid Kit

Having a first aid kit just for your pet is one of the first steps you can take to be prepared for unexpected injuries. Kits are available for purchase to anypet parent at our Animal House store (in-person or online), but if you are participating in the claass and would like to pick up your kit at the event, please choose Curbside pickup (which is free) for the shipping option at checkout.
