Q: Can I rent other rooms at the ARL?
A: Yes, we have many other spaces available for rent. Click here to see the full list.

Q: Are there a minimum and/or maximum number of guests needed to hold an event at the ARL?
A: There is no minimum number of guests needed to host an event at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa's facility. There is a maximum of 200 people.

Q: How soon do we need to reserve space?
A: We prefer to have one month's notice to book an event at the ARL. However, we can generally accommodate depending on availability and details of the rental.

Q: Can we bring in our own caterer?
A: Yes, you can bring in your own catering. We are able to make recommendations of caterers upon request.

Q: Is there a deposit required to reserve space at the ARL?
A: Yes, a non-refundable deposit, 25% of the rental fee, that is applied to the room rental is required at the signing of the contract.

Q: Do I need to bring my own audio visual equipment?
A: The ARL has audio visual equipment available for use by our guests. Discuss your needs with the ARL staff when booking your event. There is a rental fee for this equipment.

Q: Can we decorate the room for our event?
A: Yes, but all decorations must be pre-approved by the ARL. Anything that would cause paint to peel or leave residue on the walls is not permitted.

Q: Can we have a band or DJ?
A: Yes, you can have music at your event. Talk with an ARL representative to discuss specific details. We do not allow fog or bubble machines, strobe, laser or cop lights in the building, for the safety of the animals.

Q: Does the ARL serve alcohol?
A: Yes, the ARL can handle all of your beer, wine and wine cooler needs. However, our liquor license does not provide for liquor. Speak with your ARL representative for more information.

Q: Is there a security charge?
A: The ARL requires use of security at any event that is dispensing alcoholic beverages and/or is using any of the outdoor facilities/ premises after normal ARL business hours. There is a charge for security that is to be coordinated between the renter and the security provider.
