28 pairs of fuzzy ears and 28 pairs of eyes looked up at us from the two large kennels in our medical exam room. All at once, six mama cats and 22 kittens had arrived at the Animal Rescue League.
We’re in the middle of a busy kitten season, and kittens, with or without mamas, have been arriving at the ARL every day for weeks … but these 28 new arrivals, all from the same place, are a LOT to take in at one time.
Thankfully, these kittens and their mamas now have a roof over their heads and soft blankets to sleep on, but there’s a lot of work to be done, and that’s where we need your help.

The kittens range in age from 4-7 weeks, and we’re treating many for upper respiratory infections, eye infections, ear mites and diarrhea. They’ll also ALL need vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries once they’re old enough.
And that’s not all. Almost immediately, the number of kittens grew as one very pregnant mama gave birth to 3 tiny spotted babies. Sadly, one was too weak to survive, but the other two are active and doing well.
Kitten season is a challenge every year, but your support will make it possible for us to be there for every cat and kitten that arrives at our door – no matter how young, how fragile, or how many at a time.
Donate to Help
Your donation today – whether one-time or monthly – will ensure these kittens and their mamas, and so many others, receive the medical care, safe shelter, and nourishing food they need to grow and thrive … and ultimately find loving families.
P.S. When you donate today to help these kittens and their mamas or join our Loyal Friends Club monthly giving program, you’ll automatically be enrolled to receive exclusive updates on their progress.
