    This neglected, emaciated dog was trapped in a kennel and thrown in a dumpster – left for dead. Luckily, the kennel broke open upon impact and Oscar was able to climb to the top of the trash pile, but he was too weak to jump out of the dumpster.

  • ARL Rescues Dogs With Scarring From Owner Tying Their Mouths Shut

    Three dogs arrived at the ARL together, two of them were adult dogs with deep indentations, abrasions, and scarring around their muzzles and jaws. Upon further inspection of their kennel, ARL officials discovered two thin, black bungee cords that were an exact match to the indentations on the dogs' muzzles.

  • ARL Assists with Animal Neglect Case of Nearly 60 Ponies

    Nearly 60 Welsh ponies were found without any access to food or water. Two deceased ponies were also found. Of the living ponies, many had ribs that were visibly showing, hooves that had overgrown and curled up to the point of cutting their legs, hair loss, and other ailments. The youngest on the property was of nursing age and the oldest was about 31 years old.

  • Two Dogs Left to Die in Humboldt House

    The ARL received a call from the Humboldt County Sheriff's office to provide guidance for a horrific case they responded to. Two dogs were abandoned inside a house in the city of Humboldt. “Boston” and “Murphy” were locked inside their kennels and left to die. Both dogs suffered immensely from being withheld food and water.
