The ARL Mobile Rescue Team has assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Department with a large-scale farm animal rescue in Washington County. Nearly 140 pigs, goats and sheep are now recovering under the care of the ARL.

The ARL team received the urgent call to assist with the rescue on Tuesday. Upon arrival at the property two hours away, our team found dozens of sheep, goats and pigs living in horrendous conditions among deceased animals. None of the animals had adequate food or water and many were in poor condition.

The ARL returned late Tuesday with dozens of pigs and left early Wednesday to continue the rescue. The total number of animals in our care after the two days is nearly 140 goats, sheep and pigs.

A rescue of this scale is a massive undertaking. To help with medical care and other care for these animals, please click below.
