Thunder: Living in Pain for Months

The suffering Thunder has been enduring is unimaginable.  We see a lot in this line of work, but when first saw Thunder, it took our breath away: a massive, infected wound covered about a third of this sweet cat’s back like a giant, raw crater.

And his injury is not recent.

Our veterinarians say he has been living in pain for weeks, or possibly months, on his own without any medical care.

We’re shocked that he’s still alive.

As soon as Thunder arrived, our Emergency Care Team rushed to help him, carefully cleaning his wound and administering pain medications. The smell of infection was overpowering. We don’t know what happened to this poor kitty, but the size and scope of his injury are unlike anything we’ve seen.

Now he needs your help TODAY.

Thunder needs immediate surgery so we can remove the dead tissue around his wound, control his infection and give him a chance to finally heal. The infection has not only severely damaged his skin, it has penetrated the underlying muscle tissue – we don’t yet know how extensive that damage is.

Even after surgery, Thunder’s recovery is expected to be lengthy. A wound covering so much of the body is not easy to heal, and he will need extra care for as long as that takes.  Your monthly gift will not only ensure he can get the care he needs today, but also into the future.

We are committed to doing everything we can to help Thunder and give him a life worth living.

In times like these, your gift matters more than ever.  Please help … for Thunder, and for all pets who come to us alone, suffering and in need of a miracle.

Please consider enrolling in our monthly Loyal Friends Club giving program to be a part of that Miracle or make a one-time donation today.
