The little dog was in so much pain she couldn’t bear to move.
Her body was raw and bleeding – covered with scabs and open wounds – when she arrived at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa just days ago. Every movement, every touch – even a breath of air on her skin made her whimper in pain.
The tiny dog, who we named Rosie, has one of the worst cases of skin infection that our Emergency Care Team has ever seen. Her skin was literally sloughing off her body, creating open wounds. She did not get this way overnight. She very likely had been suffering for months and no one helped her.
We gave her the strongest pain medication her little body could handle and began taking the first steps to treating her wounds. Rosie’s fragile skin was extremely delicate. We carefully coated her in a medicated cream to promote healing and covered her in protective padding so her wounds would not continue to grow.
Rosie has a long road ahead of her, but with your help she can have a second chance. You’re her only hope.
She is now in our Miracle Medical Ward under close supervision, but she is just one of many pets in our care who need extensive medical treatment right now.
We need your help today to continue to be there for Rosie and other pets like her who are in pain and discomfort, or who have suffered trauma.
When you donate to our Miracle Medical Fund, you’ll show Rosie and other animals in need that despite what she has been through, there is still hope.
When you donate to help Rosie, you’ll automatically be enrolled to receive an update on her progress!
