Oatmeal was found all alone in a fast-food parking lot struggling to walk.

When she arrived at the Animal Rescue League, we immediately made her comfortable and began figuring out how to help her. X-rays showed severe problems with both of her back legs. Her kneecaps are displaced to the point that they move in and out of their normal position as she tries to walk.

She also has a ruptured ligament in one knee, similar to a torn ACL in a human. She likely has been living in constant discomfort for a very long time.

Oatmeal’s condition is so severe that she needs double knee surgery with a specialist in order to give her permanent relief and help her walk normally again. She needs your help.

Despite her challenges, she is the sweetest dog. She loves being in laps and being held. Her face lights up when she sees us.

Double knee surgery is expensive, and with all the pets who have come to us with serious medical needs this year — including a recent surge of pets who need orthopedic surgeries — we need your help now more than ever.

Your donation to our Miracle Medical Fund today will help Oatmeal get the surgery she needs, and your monthly donation will help her now and ensure we can continue to help the countless others who will arrive this year in need of critical care.

Oatmeal's surgery should have happened long before she ever arrived at the ARL. Now that she’s here we’re committed to giving her the quality of life she deserves. But we can't do it alone.

Your gift today will help change her life.
