Jonesy arrived fighting for his life

Jonesy arrived at the ARL in extremely critical condition – drooling, panting and in obvious distress. We were told that a company had laid poison in the apartment building he was living in and that Jonesy had been eating mice in his home that had likely been poisoned. He urgently needs your help.

We rushed him to our Miracle Medical Ward for immediate care, and his condition was worse than we’d even thought. His ears were bruised, his face was swollen, and he had an injury on the back of his head. His mouth hung open and he couldn’t control use of his tongue. We don’t know what happened to him, but we fear he may be suffering from more than poisoning.

We started treatment immediately, but we won’t know for a while if it will work and we are still investigating other possible causes of Jonesy’s condition. At this point he is also unable to eat on his own, so we have placed a feeding tube and our team is feeding him a special recovery diet four times a day. Unfortunately, treating possible poisoning cases is not always successful. He remains under the close watch of our team of veterinarians, and his condition is very touch and go.

We don’t know if we will be able to save him, but we are committed to doing all we can.
