A kitten found next to a building … frozen to the ground.

Even during a bitter cold snap, it was not a call we expected to hear.

The poor kitten, who we have named Olaf, is lucky he was found when he was. If he’d spent any more time in the bitter cold and brutal wind he may not have made it. He was obviously not used to being outdoors.

We rushed him back to our Miracle Medical Team, who found he is suffering from severe frostbite on his back paws, as well as parts of his front paws and part of his tail. We don’t know yet how much damage has been done or how much it will affect his ability to walk. He's now safe and warm at the ARL, but he’s not out of the woods.

No animal should suffer or die in the freezing cold. Thankfully we got to Olaf just in time.
